Aghoramoorthi

The deity stands frontally at the center of a large lotus-petal halo topped by a kirtimukha (face of glory) mask with bulging eyes and curling tusks. The figure has a dark blue-teal complexion, multiple arms, and a wrathful expression with wide white eyes, bared tusks, and a protruding tongue. The crown is topped with hooded cobras, and serpents are wound around the arms, waist, and worn as ornaments across the chest, along with a skull at the hip. The upper right hand holds a trishula (trident) on a long staff, while the other hands hold what appear to be a hook or goad and other attributes now difficult to make out clearly. The legs are wrapped with coiled serpents down to the ankles. Around the halo, four subsidiary figures occupy the corners, a fair skinned figure with hands folded in anjali at upper left, a dark bearded ascetic at upper right, a green skinned figure at right, and sages at lower left and lower right, all shown witnessing the central figure.
