Sreekrishnaleela 2

This panel is depicted in the pancharam or false door motif of the temple and has two different parts. To the right there is Krishna standing atop a set of gopas, including Balarama, and is trying to steal butter from the pots hung above. He is green-skinned and wears bangles, earrings, armlets, waistband, anklets, a crown topped with peacock feathers, and a loin cloth. He has long black hair adorned with flowers. He holds the uri with both hands. Balarama, who is at the feet of Krishna, is white-skinned and his hair is raised up in a bun decorated with garlands. There are other gopas or cowherd children as well, who have arranged themselves on one on top of one another's back so that Krishna reaches the necessary height to steal the butter. The panel is faded at bottom so that we are unable to discern how many gopas there are. To the left there is Kaliya, the serpent, devouring Krishna. A green-skinned Krishna, is seen inside Kaliya's mouth. He is holding a flute in his hand. The other hand is inside Kaliya's mouth. He wears necklaces, armlets, bangles, rings, a crown that is decorated with peacock feathers. He has long black hair.
