Iconographic Attributes: Yashoda is depicted as seated on a chair. She is wearing a rose-colored saree with golden border. She is wearing a greenish-blue blouse, holding infant Krishna on her lap. Krishna is wearing nothing but a pair of jewelry and a floral garland or vanamala around his neck. He has a peacock feather in his hair. There is also Balarama, who looks slightly older than Krishna. He is also wearing a vanamala and some jewelry, holding a stick in his right hand. His hair is also curled up in a bun above his head with peacock feathers. There are curtains in the backdrop.

Textual Source: Non-narrative
Mythological Tale: Kamsa the king of Mathura, learns that he will die at the hand of his nephew. In a bid to save the baby, krishnan’s father exchanges his newborn with that of Nandagopan and Yashoda’s child. Yashoda unaware of the truth, raises krishnan as her own. She appears as a doting mother.
